The filter uses natural coconut shell activated carbon and food-grade fluoride remover with the BPA free housing.
What does WD-7990 water filter out?
It is safe and efficient to remove harmful contaminants such as chlorine, fluoride, odor, sediment and large particles.
Does the WD-7990 water filter remove lithium?
No. It is our understanding that Lithium is a mineral. The WD-7990 Purification Elements do NOT remove minerals.
Do the WD-7990 filters reduce fluoride in the water?
Yes, the WD-7990 Purification Elements can initially reduce Fluoride up to 99.9%. However, the efficiency of removing Fluoride begins to lose after a few hundred gallons.
Why does my filtered water have a bad taste?
Generally, the reason for having a bad taste in your filtered water is coming from not having enough priming filters. The bad taste is from process dust that may have remained from the initial priming process. Please try priming your filters a couple of more times throughout.
How long does a WD-7990 filters last?
Each set of two PF-2® filters should be replaced after approx. 1,000 gallons, while PF-2® filters should be replaced after (1,000/5), or 200 days if you have a two filter you used 5 gallons of water per day. Then, they should be replaced about every 6 months.
Does the Waterdrop water filter remove Chloramine?
Yes, Waterdrop WD-7990 replacement filters do remove Chloramine.
How does the filter element in the original system deal with viruses?
The micro fine pores are small, micro fine particulates such as bacteria, viruses and even food coloring particulate are prevented from passing through the tortuous path. These contaminants are trapped in the micro fine pores while the much smaller H2O molecules are not.
